In an unveiling event Thursday night, the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) announced its lineup for the 2024-2025 season. This year’s show features 24 presenters, with performances spanning a variety of genres including comedy, magic, family entertainment and music.
The season kicks off on August 25 with Grammy-nominated duo The War & Treaties, known for their modern fusion of country, blues and soul. In 2023, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount became the first Black duo to be nominated for Duo of the Year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.
The lineup also includes notable acts such as Dr. Scott Bonn’s true crime talk on September 12th, bluegrass music by The Cleverlys on September 20th, and country music by Riders in the Sky on September 26th.

Family-friendly shows include The Magic of Rob Lake February 18th and Dirty Dancing in Concert March 7th. Dancing with the Celts March 20 will highlight traditional music and Irish folk dance.
The diverse line-up is designed to appeal to a broad audience and support the growth of the local arts scene. BCPA’s plans are expected to positively contribute to Bloomington-Normal’s cultural landscape, provide recreational options for residents and attract visitors to the area.
City of Bloomington Arts and Entertainment Director Anthony Nelson said in a statement that he believes this season will be “one of the strongest in the venue’s history.”
The BCPA will continue to add one-time shows throughout the year as routes become available, a strategy that has resulted in multiple sell-outs this year. Later additions included well-known artists such as Lee Brice and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Comedy is proving incredibly popular this year, with sell-out shows from Pete Davidson, Bored Teachers, Charlie Berens and Chelcie Lynn.
An improved season ticket scheme has also been introduced for the 2024-25 season, offering discounts to customers buying tickets for all 24 shows or for small groups of 12 or more.
