The Music Department’s 40th Annual Music Honors Recital will be held on Sunday, April 14, at 3:30 pm in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. The concert will celebrate the annual winners and top competitors.
Miroslava Panayotova, director of this year’s music recital competition, said the level of skill is improving every year and now winning the competition or even getting a place has become a bragging right. “It is incredible to see and hear these students perform every year. Every student in the music department steps up and the students look forward to performing for an enthusiastic audience.”
First place was junior Jillian Russell; second place was graduate student Henry Sargent, and third place was freshman Garland Watson. They, along with Ben Wheeler, Haley Evans, Ryan Montemayor, Erin Newberry, Tyler Trickey, Calista Maurer, Morgan Murphy, Mackenzie Schofield and Narcedalia Isabel Fuentes, will take the stage on Sunday to show support to family, friends, university leaders, faculty, staff and a community audience By.
