West Windsor Arts Center Presents

(Princeton Junction, NJ) — West Windsor Arts The “Summer Music and More” series of three free concerts is once again taking place at the Princeton Nassau Park Pavilion (behind Panera Bread). The series offers three different concerts representing different musical genres in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Each event also features art activities that children and adults will enjoy.

Reserve your dates for three unique concerts at the Nassau Park Pavilion, each opening with contemporary cellist Dan Kassel. Dan is an accomplished cellist who performs in a variety of classical, electronic, jazz and rock ensembles. As a solo artist, Dan is known for his innovative approach to live looping technology. By tapping, plucking, and bowing the strings on the instrument and recording each layer for instant playback, he built a career as a one-man band, providing soulful music for weddings, fine restaurants, private parties, corporate events, and more original music. Music will begin at 5:00 pm with Dan’s opening number, and special performances will begin at 6:00 pm. All concerts are free and open to the public!

Saturday, July 13, 2024 – El Noordzo from 5:00 to 7:30 pm (rain on July 14). El Noordzo will perform their instrumental, psychedelic, Afro-Cuban surf jazz interpretations of classic rock, punk and alternative songs. The trio has been thrilling audiences in the tri-state area since 2013. . Mike also composes music for films and runs the experimental music label NAHT Records. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in jazz performance from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. Expect the unexpected to happen Ernodzo Entering the city!

Saturday, July 27, 2024 – Rini 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm (rainy July 28). Rini will perform her own version of Indian jazz electronica. Singer, composer, and violinist Harini “Rini” Raghavan, born in Chennai, New Jersey, turns South Asian classical elements toward pop and jazz sensibilities in a fresh, organic way, drawing from her formal training in Carnatic music and Berklee music Drawing inspiration from the Academy’s work, South Asian classical elements are skewed toward pop and jazz sensibilities. She leads a group of renowned New York-based musicians from various nationalities who add their unique musical influences to create what Rolling Stone India describes as a “powerful contemporary Carnatic/electronic fusion sound”. Rini Recipient of a 2023 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship, was part of the Berkeley Indian Orchestra’s 2023 Grammy-nominated record “Shuruaat” and received a 2023 Global Music Awards Silver Medal for the song “Magizhini”.

Saturday, August 10, 2024 – Dukes of Destiny 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm (rained August 11). The Dukes of Destiny will play blues music. In 1985, five young local musicians got together and started playing old blues songs in a rambling three-story house in Philadelphia. Several others joined in and decided to take this action on the road The Dukes of Destiny, a name they took from the cover of a matchbook, urged readers to “be the captain of their own destiny.” They have undergone some changes over the years, but today they are led by dynamic harmonica player and vocalist John Colgan-Davis, with Adam Darer on keyboards and management. Richard Ray Adler on guitar and vocals, Mike Blair on bass, and Mike O’Rourke on drums. The Dukes continue to deliver an exciting mix of powerful original songs and unique arrangements of blues and soul standards. They remain Philadelphia’s oldest and most popular blues band.

“We are very excited to once again launch our Pops Music Series. For many years we have presented summer concerts at the Nassau Park Pavilion, featuring a variety of music genres. People look forward to them and we look forward to them!” said Green.
