abu dhabi [UAE]June 4 (ANI/WAM): Sharjah Arts Foundation (SAF), in partnership with Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF), invites Emirati filmmakers to apply for an open call to receive funding of Dh25,000 .

This special grant aims to support independent Emirati cinema and will be given to the Emirati winner, jointly selected by the foundation and ADMAF.

Through this earmarked grant, the winners will receive opportunities and professional challenges that will help them connect with the international community of experimental filmmakers.

This open call is part of the seventh Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) short film production funding program organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation.

The grant, offered in conjunction with SFP, the foundation’s annual independent film and moving image festival, provides funding for the completion of short films that test the boundaries of contemporary filmmaking. The winners will premiere their completed films at a future issue of SFP.

For this grant, short films are defined as works that have a total running time of no more than 50 minutes (including end credits).

Applicants will submit a three-minute recording, which will be evaluated on their overall vision for the film, including genre, theme, structure and plot; the originality of their script; and their creativity and technical skills. (ANI/WAM)
