A group of musicians from the world-famous Fidelio Trio perform some of Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin’s iconic works, including (Must be more) crispy (O’Sullivan, Messier); Christmas Eve; and Fidelio unknown In this program we go from the music of Carolyn who inspired Michel to the music of Irene and Linda Buckley who continue his legacy. The Fidelio Trio is Darragh with Morgan (violin), Mary Dulia (piano) and Tim Gill (cello). Sarah Allen (flute), Kian O’Doyle (viola) and Keith Pascoe (second violin) will also participate in the concert.

Ai Kelegao, a celebratory concert cork musical Mentor, performer and composer Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin’s legacy is led by mentor and Alumni They are at the heart of the vibrant “sound community” that Mícheál fosters 1980s and 1990s at University College Cork. Curated by Mel Mercier, Michel’s former student, long-time collaborator, and friend, the concert features contributions from Michel’s groundbreaking creativity in teaching and music-making period music for various projects. UCC. Performers include Bobby Gardiner, Colm Murphy, Mary Mitchell-Ingoldsby, Niall Vallely and The re-formed Rectory Céilí Band. Program content includes music From Aloys Fleischmann’s monumental collection of approximately 6,000 dances and songs, The origins of Irish traditional music About 1600-1855 (1998), a project on which Mícheál worked as Assistant Editor. concert Also has ‘Ai Kelegao For tapes and collaborations with traditional musicians, MícheálCreated and his group UCC Students had an unforgettable music-making weekend in 1989 Sulán Studios in Ballyvourney, County Cork.
