San Antonio Music Summer is Coming

SAN ANTONIO (May 28, 2024) — This summer, San Antonio will host a series of exciting music events, the signature event of which is “Make Music Day San Antonio.” The City of San Antonio Arts and Culture Department will co-host a free live music event to kick off Friday, June 21, 2024, from noon to 10 p.m. at Texas Public Radio headquarters (321 W. Commerce Street) Curtain and celebrate Make Music Day. A diverse lineup of San Antonio artists includes: 16 the Olympus, Andria Rose, Apollo Black, Combo Cosmico, Gavin Gonzalez, George Mendoza, Harvey McLaughlin, Pop Pistol, Scripts, Sierra Lyn Brown, The 501s, Wally Robles and Zo G .In addition, San Antonians will have the opportunity to “make music” through drum circles, sing-alongs, karaoke and more. Other performances taking place around the city as part of Make Music Day include youth-focused events hosted by OPERA San Antonio, the Classical Music Institute and the AM Project.

“Music Day will provide all of our residents and visitors an opportunity to experience the city’s diverse musical wealth in a free and accessible way,” said Krystal Jones, Director of the Department of Arts and Culture. “The purpose of this event is to come together to make or enjoy music, and we encourage everyone in the community to join us.”
