Cole Gallery Announces New Exhibition by Angela Bandurka and Ron Stocke, “Renewed”
Opening reception, Saturday, June 1, 5-8 p.m., Cole Gallery, 107 5th Avenue South, Edmonds.
Angela Bandurka and Ron Stocke are a dynamic painting duo who have had several joint exhibitions before, but Bandurka and The long-term COVID-19 struggle meant they did not hold exhibitions together for several years. Her journey is a touching story of the struggle to regain her life and paint.
During the long experience of the new crown epidemic, Stocker expressed his love for his wife by taking care of her and son. Eager to express herself through art and reconnect with friends, Bandulkar began creating a visual COVID-19 diary.
“For most of my illness, I was absent from my career and the lives of my friends,” Bandulkar said. “Even talking over the phone is difficult, so creating a visual diary of my experience was the best way to share what I was going through.”

Once she begins to heal, they are ready to engage with the world through their art.
“Everywhere around us we see people moving on from the trauma of the past few years and using their newfound appreciation for life. As artists we want to celebrate this rediscovered appreciation for sociality A love of participation and travel,” Stock said.
In 2023, the family went on a long-planned World War II-themed European vacation to celebrate Angela’s son’s graduation. Many of the images in the show were taken on that trip.
“As a society, we are all celebrating life again after a dark period, and I hope to do that through our art,” Banduka said of the exhibition.
The show will run from May 30 to July 2.

Free screening of ‘Israelism’ documentary at Edmonds Theater

Edmonds Jazz Trail
Call and pick up a wristband at Coldwell Banker Bain, 108 5th Avenue South, Edmonds, Saturday, June 8, from 6 p.m. to midnight
The Edmonds Jazz Walk is a one-night music festival in downtown Edmonds featuring 13 venues, 22 bands and more than 100 musicians. When you purchase your ticket you will receive a wristband which can be collected on the day of the event at Coldwell Banker Bain, the event headquarters. This wristband gives you full night access to all Jazz Walk venues.
Save $15 when you order your tickets before midnight on June 2. Adult tickets are $40 in advance ($55 at the door) and student tickets are $30 in advance ($45 at the door). Reservations open at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Jazz Walk.

ECA presents Victor Wooten and The Wooten Brothers

For more than four decades, the Wootton Brothers have been recognized as one of the most innovative musicians working today. They are known as one of the most talented and dynamic brother bands in the world. Bassist Victor Wooten has been a top innovator on his instrument for decades; he first achieved world fame while working with the genre-crossing band Bela Fleck & The Flecktones.
The brothers were musical masterpieces from an early age, redefining the boundaries of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock and bluegrass.
In their early years, they shared the stage with the likes of Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations, Ramsay Lewis, Stephanie Mills and War. In the mid-1980s, the brothers released an album Mr. and Mrs. Wootens Clive Davis’s Arista Records.
Together, the Wootton brothers bring unparalleled experience, originality and musical expertise to the stage. Their show exudes a high-energy, ultra-funky, artsy fusion of original songs and classics. ECA is proud to welcome these incredible musicians to their summer stage – tickets are $35 to $123.

Arts of the Terrace is looking for artists to participate in the 2024 exhibition
The Terrace Art juried art show returns this fall and now is the time for artists to apply. This year marks the 44th annual Mountlake Terrace Heritage event, sponsored by the city’s Arts Advisory Committee and Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Arts.
The exhibition will run from September 21st to 28th; submission deadline is August 16th. Prizes exceed $5,000.
This year’s judges include Frankie Gollub for paintings, prints, drawings and miniatures; Barbara Roser for photography; and Sam Scott for three-dimensional work and craftsman work.
