Napoleon Nyanhi appointed director of Zimbabwe National Arts Council


In his new role, Nyanhi will be responsible for executing NACZ’s strategic direction, fostering partnerships with key stakeholders, and advocating for the importance of the arts in society. His expertise will help advance the Council’s mission of supporting and promoting the arts in the nation.

“The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe extends its warmest congratulations to Napoleon Nyanhi on his appointment as Director,” said NACZ Board Chairman Nozipho Maraire. “We look forward to working together to build a brighter and more vibrant future for Zimbabwe’s creative and cultural industries.

“As an institution committed to promoting and nurturing artistic excellence across the country, NACZ is confident that Mr. Nyanhi’s leadership will enable NACZ to achieve its restructuring vision, strategic goals and stakeholder needs.”

Nyanhi is a seasoned veteran of the arts and culture sector with an impressive record of leadership and innovation. His extensive experience includes serving as Managing Director of Jacaranda Culture & Media, Executive Director of the National Award for Merit in the Arts, and Producer of a popular talent show TV show Dream Star Zimbabwe.

Additionally, he has held roles in the media and arts sectors including Production Manager at CMedia Africa, Founding Station Manager at Capital FM and Program Manager at Star FM. Nyanhi’s academic qualifications include degrees and certificates from prestigious institutions such as Africa University (Zimbawi), Clark Atlanta University (USA), University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), University of Westminster (UK) and most recently Obtained a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance from Midlands State University (Zimbawi).

His passion for innovation and unwavering dedication to the arts make him the ideal candidate to steer the National Arts Council towards An ideal leader for the future.
