LEWISBURG, WV (WBOY) – Heal Appalachia, a concert that raises funds to help restore Appalachia, will once again feature country music star Taylor Childs main character.

Childers, an Appalachian himself, was a headliner at last year’s festival. He is one of 23 area artists performing at the three-day festival, Sept. 19-21, 2024, at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds.

According to an announcement on social media, Healing Appalachia, run by Hope on the Hills, aims to keep ticket prices as affordable as possible; performers and other staff are volunteers, so ” Funds can be allocated directly to recovery efforts in the Appalachian region and cover basic production costs.”

The event is dedicated specifically to combating the opioid epidemic in West Virginia and Appalachia and will aid harm reduction, rehabilitation, music therapy, prevention, health reentry and wellness efforts to ” Help Appalachia be whole again.”

Tickets for the event, which includes three days of music and on-site camping, go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, July 9. While ticket prices have not yet been announced, three-day tickets last year were $174, and a single-night ticket to see Tyler Childers was $90 (excluding fees).

Visit the Healing Appalachia website or follow the event on social media for the latest information about the festival.
