Mayor Scott kicks off countdown to AFRAM 2024 and announces artist line-up


Busta Rhymes, Morris Day and The Times launch one of the largest African American art fairs on the East Coast

Baltimore, MD (Thursday, April 25, 2024) – Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Recreation and Parks announced plans for the 47th annual AFRAM Festival. AFRAM will return to Historic Druid Hills Park on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd from 12-9pm both days. The city of Baltimore will continue its annual AFRAM tradition, once again celebrating Black excellence in fashion, art, music, business and culture this summer.

AFRAM Baltimore is a free event featuring local artists, business owners and makers who showcase their wares, talents and services to thousands of attendees. It is one of the largest African American cultural and arts fairs on the East Coast.

“Each year, AFRAM brings Baltimore together to celebrate our city’s history, culture, community and love of music,” Mayor Brandon M. Scott said. “As one of the largest Black arts and culture fairs on the East Coast, it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the best of Baltimore and come together to show the world what we have to offer. I’m so excited that this year we’ll be at Basement Boys and more Celebrating 40 years of house music with the help of legends and welcoming amazing artists like Busta Rhymes, Mya, Alex Isley and many, many more who will make sure this is the show for all ages on the AFRAM stage this year. Let’s get ready to celebrate Baltimore this summer!

This year’s AFRAM will also celebrate House Music’s 40th anniversary, showcasing the genre’s unique history, its origins in Baltimore, and local legends like the Basement Boys who are a national sensation.

WJZ-TV and 92Q Jams are the official broadcast media sponsors of AFRAM. CANE Collective and SEED Schools of Maryland are partners. In addition, the city is supporting Maryland’s SEED Schools’ June Youth 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk on Sunday, June 9.
