The city once again celebrates the season by hosting local favorites and celebrities on charming East Main Street in front of the Bullock County Courthouse Downtown Live. On three Thursday evenings in April and May, jazz, blues and folk music fill the city center. Catch the soulful sounds and beachy rhythms of The Tams on April 18, high-energy powerhouse Papa Sol on May 2, and the dance jams of Liquid Pleasure on May 30. Among the many outdoor performers, Statesboro will also host get ready, the largest concert in more than a decade. No one is better suited to headline this musical event than country music star and Georgia Southern University alumnus Cole Swindell. The Everett Center for the Arts kicks off April 4-7 at the Emma Kelly Theater with its locally produced nonsenseThis quirky drama follows the antics of three eccentric nuns as they raise funds for a convent. The festivities begin on Saturday, April 6, with the opening day of the beloved local restaurant Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market. The market opens at 9 a.m. and is located behind the Visit Statesboro building off Main Street. Show your support for Statesboro’s makers and growers by picking up handcrafted gifts, fresh produce or sweet homemade drinks, including coffee and lemonade.

Sweetheart Circle will be packed with artists, events and interactive booths on Saturday, April 20 from 10am to 3pm. Then, head to the Community Stage for live music throughout the day. The festival also features an Artist Market where you can browse handmade gifts such as jewelry, accessories and art prints.
Once the festival is over, thrill-seekers should make plans to attend the 13th annual festival Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo. The weekend of April 25-27 is sure to be action-packed! Rodeo fans can look forward to all their favorite shows, including bareback bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping and more.
