The registration period for the 1st Macau International Children’s Arts Festival “Music Camp” has been extended

In order to broaden the musical horizons of local young music students, the “Music Camp” incorporates 1Yingshi The “Macau International Children’s Arts Festival”, co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Wynn Resorts (Macau) and produced by Macau Orchestra Co., Ltd., will be held from August 16 to 21. To make it easier for people to apply, the registration deadline has been extended to 6 pm on July 19 (local time). Successful applicants will be notified by email on or before August 1.

Grammy Award-winning violin virtuoso Joshua Bell and several string musicians from the St. Martin’s Fields Chamber Orchestra were invited to Macao to serve as special instructors for the “Music Camp”. Participants will receive one-on-one instrument lessons and master classes taught by St. Martin’s College string musicians in the Fields Chamber Orchestra. A string orchestra will be formed to rehearse with Joshua Bell and the string musicians of the St. Martin’s Fields Orchestra, and will perform with the latter at the results presentation concert on the last day of the “Music Camp”. Among them, outstanding violin contestants will have the opportunity to perform solo parts of Bach Concerto for two violins With Joshua Bell. In addition, the “Music Camp” will also include a cultural tour, allowing participants to visit Macao’s World Heritage Sites, witness the blend of Chinese and Western cultures, and understand Macao’s history and culture.

The “Music Camp” has a total of 40 places, and registration is now open for local and foreign teenagers who were born between 2006 and 2016 and are learning string instruments. When registering, interested parties must submit a completed registration form and a valid demonstration video link of the candidate’s performance of the selected music before 6 pm on July 19 (local time). Successful applicants will be notified by email on or before August 1.

The admission fee for “Music Camp” is MOP 10,000. Successful applicants who hold a Macao permanent resident or non-permanent resident identity card will enjoy a discount of MOP2,000 on the admission fee.
