The enduring romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy is presented in the intimate drawing room setting, just as Jane herself read the story aloud to the Austen family and their closest friends for the first time.

Nadine Garner is a film, television and stage icon who brings Austen’s most famous manuscripts to life with beautiful musical accompaniment. Carl Davis stars in the much-loved BBCTV drama pride and Prejudiceis widely regarded as the most influential television adaptation of the author’s work.

Two acclaimed musicians will join Nadine on stage to perform the acclaimed Carl Davis score. Melbourne-born Dan Le is a rising star in classical piano whose international career has spanned four continents and has been hailed by the New York Concert Review as “a brilliant young pianist”.

Violin accompaniment will be provided by Australian musician Madeleine Easton, whose solo performance at the coronation of King Charles III attracted a television audience of 400 million.

Directed by Tyran Parke and adapted by Gill Hornby, beloved Australian actor Nadine Garner will honor this legacy in a unique and faithful production, Promises riveting entertainment, humorous moments and some fantastic surprises.

Pride and Prejudice: An Adaptation of Words and Music It will be on display at Fairfax Studios, Melbourne Arts Center until September 27. The production will also run at the Sydney Opera House Theater from 14 August to 1 September 2024 (new dates recently announced).
