“The 1st Macau International Children’s Arts Festival Music Camp” is now open for registration. Musicians of the St. Martin’s College Orchestra will be guided by musicians and the famous violinist Joshua Bell will perform on the same stage.

In order to expand the musical horizons of local young music students, the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Wynn Resorts Macau jointly organized “1Yingshi The “Macau International Children’s Arts Festival – Music Camp” organized by the Macau Orchestra Limited will be held from August 16 to 21. The “Music Camp” held in Macau will bring together many world-renowned artists, including Grammy Award winner and international violin master Joshua Bell, string players from the Saint Martin’s College Fields Orchestra, etc. In addition to receiving one-on-one instruction, contestants will form a string ensemble with these artists, and outstanding violin contestants will also have the rare opportunity to perform on the same stage with Joshua Bell. Registration for “Music Camp” is now open. Interested students are welcome to sign up and submit performance videos for selection.

“Music Camp” will be held from August 16th to 21st, with diverse contents. Participants will receive one-on-one instrument lessons and master classes taught by St. Martin’s College string musicians in the Fields Orchestra. They will form a string ensemble, rehearse in the Fields Orchestra with Joshua Bell and the string musicians of St. Martin’s College, and perform with the latter at the results presentation concert on the last day of the “Music Camp”. . Among them, outstanding violin contestants will have a rare opportunity to play Bach’s solo part Concerto for two violins With Joshua Bell. In addition, the “Music Camp” also includes a cultural tour, where participants will visit the Macao World Heritage Site, which witnesses the harmonious coexistence of Chinese and Western cultures, to learn about Macao’s history and culture.

The music camp has a total of 40 places, open to local and foreign teenagers who were born between 2006 and 2016 to learn string instruments. The registration fee for the “Music Camp” is MOP 10,000 (MOP 10,000) per person. For admitted students holding a permanent resident/non-permanent resident identity card of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the registration fee is MOP 2,000 (two thousand patacas).
