Billie Eilish becomes third artist to reach 100 million monthly Spotify listeners, with only 82 songs


Billie Eilish becomes the third artist to reach 100 million monthly Spotify listeners, and the youngest artist to date to reach this milestone.

The “Happier Than Ever” singer trails Taylor Swift (who has 102 million monthly listeners on Spotify) and The Weeknd (who has 107 million monthly listeners on the music streaming platform) at the top of the list.

Swift and The Weeknd both have more than twice as many songs on Spotify as Eilish, who only has 82 songs on the platform. She also made history by becoming the youngest person to reach 100 million monthly listeners at the age of 22.

Speaking about the achievement, Jeremy Erlich, global head of music at Spotify, said: advertising billboard: “Spotify has been part of Billie’s story from the beginning. Since Sea Eyes, her fan base has continued to grow around the world. She and what [brother-collaborator] What Finneas has accomplished since 2016 is quite impressive… and all at the age of 22.

Eight of Eilish’s songs are included in Spotify’s Billions Club. These tracks include “Lovely” by Khalid (2.8 billion plays), “Bad Guy” (2.5b), “When the Party’s Over” (1.8b), “Everything I Wanted” (1.6b), “Ocean” Eyes” (1.4b)), “Happier Than Ever” (1.3b), “Idontwannabeyouanymore” (1.09b), and “Bury a Friend” (1.01b).

Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, was released in May. In a four-star review of LP New METhomas Smith writes: “Hit Me Hard remains a unique portrait of an extraordinary talent entering young adulthood, exploring her queerness and experiencing the emotional thrill and excitement of chasing a passion or falling in love. (Sometimes) Disaster. In the process of trying to write an album for herself, she made one that resonates more than anything she’s ever done before.

Elsewhere, Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard And Soft” world tour is scheduled to begin this fall. The UK and Ireland leg will take place in July 2025 and will include a six-night stay at London’s O2 Arena. Find all remaining tickets here (UK/Ireland) and here (NA).
