Loisaida Music Festival fills Avenue C with music, food, art and culture


Thirty-seven is heaven.

On Sunday, May 26, the 37th Loisaida Festival returns. Vibrant spirit.

Events will kick off at 11:45 a.m. with a community parade featuring the drums of Batalá NY, which will take place on Avenue C from 5th Street to 12th Street and end at 12th Street. Performing in front of the main stage on 12th Street.

East Village favorite tropical punk/garage doo-wop band Pinc Louds performs at noon, and there’s a lineup of musical acts throughout the afternoon including NYC Womxn Bomba Collective, Los Fascinantes Traditional Puerto Rican Music, Taína Asili, Kinto Zonó, Enyel C, and more . This year’s co-hosts are Caridad “La Bruja” De la Luz and David “Daso” Soto of Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Deejay Lou will perform the song.

This year’s 2024 Long Live Loisada! The honorees are Congressman Dan Goldman; Felipe Luciano, activist, author and former Young Lord; Ruth Sánchez, entrepreneur and beloved Nuyorican poet He Sister of Jesús “Tato” Laviera; Manny Rodriguez, longtime youth sports organizer and Lower East Side Felix Milan Little League Founder of Félix Millán Little League; Kanielle Hernández is an activist, leader and lifelong resident of NYCHA Mariana Bracetti Houses in the East Village.

There will also be over 50 artists, creatives, makers and traders and over 10 food vendors and traders.
