waynsboro pennsylvania – The Town of Waynesboro continues to be a vibrant hub for arts and culture this spring and summer, offering an array of free events to satisfy lovers of music, art and community gatherings.

Music Maker’s Music Events

  • Shale pile site: Catch the multi-talented musical duo SHALE PILE, starring Brad Munn and Johnny Calamari, on Friday, May 10 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Their repertoire includes classic country, bluegrass, folk, blues and rock. The event is free.
  • Other noteworthy performances: Throughout May, the venue will host a variety of artist events, including Ken Jankura on May 17 and Bluegrass Hootenanny on May 19. . Admission is free.

Art display at Gallery 50

  • “America the Beautiful” Exhibition: The exhibition, on view through August 10, showcases the talents of 10 artists in Gallery 50, depicting the splendor of American life. Featured artists include Jeffrey Barnhart, Anne Finucane and more, with a variety of art forms on display. The gallery is open every Friday and Saturday and admission is free.
  • silent auction: From May 3 to June 15, a silent auction will be held featuring Brent Gift’s kinetic sculpture “Garden Wind Spinner.” Proceeds will support local arts events.

special events

  • Painting demonstration: Artist Marti Yeager will be at Gallery 50 on May 11 from 1 pm to 2:30 pm showing how to start painting with acrylics or oils.
  • Community beer, wine and spirits tastings: Enjoy live music and souvenir tasting glasses at Main Street Park. Proceeds benefit the revitalization of downtown Waynesboro.

Community art classes and exhibitions

  • 42 Art classes at West Arts Co-op: Every Wednesday from 12 noon to 3 p.m., art classes are $15 each and cover a variety of mediums including oils, pastels and watercolors.
  • Megan’s Custom Frame: Specializing in conservation frames, Megan’s offers a range of services to protect precious items and is available by appointment outside of normal business hours.
