Arts Council England announces £12.1m investment in children’s music clubs – South London News


Arts Council England announces funding for 43 new projects Music Club Covers every area in England, including four areas in London.

London’s four “music hubs” – South East London, North London, East London and West London – will receive £12.1 million, of which £3 million will be invested in instruments, equipment and technology.

south east london Music centre is a newly formed group led by Bexley Music, Bromley Youth Music Trust, Royal Greenwich Music Service, Lambeth Music Service, Lewisham Music and Southwark Music .

Arts Council England awarded £3,030,266 to the South East London Chapter, of which £2,280,982 was for music education projects and £749,284 for investment in instruments, equipment and technology.

The funding is part of a £101 million national program to provide high-quality music education for all children and young people.

Darren Henley, chief executive of Arts Council England, said: “Music education has the power to enrich young people’s lives, help them connect with those around them and set them on a productive and fulfilling career path.

“We are delighted to announce our investment in a new generation of MusicHub, which will support the excellent work of our dedicated music teachers across the country and help bring high-quality music education to more children and young people across England.”
