Post Malone to perform at ACM Awards in Frisco


Post Malone will take the stage at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, marking his latest high-profile appearance in the country era.

The star, who grew up on Little Grapevine, is one of many new performers announced Tuesday by the Academy of Country Music for the awards show, which will be held on May 16 at the Star’s Ford Center. Also on the list is Texas’ Parker McCollum, who won the 2022 Male Artist of the Year award, as well as a series of duet partners, including Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan Noah Kahan, Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

They join previously announced cast members including Texas-born Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Kody Johnson, Thomas Rea , Chris Stapleton and Lenny Wilson.

Viewers do not need a membership to watch this year’s ceremony, hosted by Reba McEntire, on Prime Video at 6 p.m. A limited number of tickets to this year’s ACM Awards are also available for purchase on SeatGeek.

Backstage, radio and television personality Bobby Bones will interview the artists and highlight special moments from the show, according to organizers.

Last year, more than 7.7 million viewers watched Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks host the ceremony for the first time at the Dallas Cowboys’ 12,000-seat practice facility. The awards were founded in 1966 and were held at AT&T Stadium in 2015.
