Mateel Community Center will celebrate its 47th Summer Arts and Music Festival June 8-9.

The festival began in 1977 and has been held every year since then, except for 2020, which was affected by the epidemic. In 2021, the event is held in and around the Mateel Community Center lobby in a smaller, more intimate setting.

The 47th Annual Summer Arts and Music Festival returns to the Mateel Community Center Hall, allowing everyone to continue celebrating together at a lower community center cost. There will be over 30 artisan stalls, as well as gourmet food, local beer and wine and of course a range of local music presented on two stages.

As always, this will be a family-friendly event, with children 12 and under free (must be accompanied by a parent and/or legal guardian). This smaller setting also allows organizers to lower admission fees, allowing more community members to participate. Visit for early ticket discounts and more information.

A press release from the 2024 festival said: “Sustainability is key this year as we develop plans and look forward to returning to an external format at another local venue and the environment that makes the most sense for us financially and otherwise. We There are some very good options out there that we will continue to discuss in 2025.

Mateel public board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at the Mateel Community Center at 59 Rusk Lane Redway starting at 6pm. Anyone can speak during public comment. You can also send an email to
