Country music singer Josh Turner, who has sold more than 6 million records and been played 3.7 billion times worldwide, will headline the annual Soiree Festival this weekend.
The annual gala will be held in downtown Anderson on April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. and April 27 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Caroline Gaddis, Anderson community events manager, said attendees will be able to enjoy live performances on multiple stages: the McCoy Wright Main Stage at Carolina Wren Park, the Papa Bear Car Wash Stage on South Main, North Main The North Main Commons stage and the South Carolina School of the Arts are located on Courthouse Square.

Doug McCormick, a country music star from Patrick, South Carolina, will perform on the Papa Bear Car Wash Stage on April 26 at 7 p.m.

The Downtown Anderson Instagram page shared a video of Turner expressing his excitement to be headlining the show and inviting people to join him.

Over 50 tents showcasing visual arts and crafts
According to Gaddis, the event will also feature a dedicated children’s area and a children’s kingdom to provide creative activities for children. “More than 50 tents display a variety of visual arts and crafts, as well as a variety of food vendors,” Gaddis said.
The best artist will receive a $2,000 prize. The Best of Show winner will receive $1,000, the Art runner-up will receive $400, the Craftsman runner-up will receive $400, and the Best of Booth winner will receive $250.
Matthew and Sarah Bradford, owners of Matty’s Patty’s, have been attending the party since the city of Anderson brought it back three years ago. “This year, our truck will be parked at Carolina Lane Park, right behind the McCoy Wright Stage,” Matthew Bradford said.
Bradford said festivals like the gala bring people from different backgrounds together. “The party is unlike anything we’ve ever attended,” Bradford said.
“The gala committee does a fantastic job, attracting artists and musicians from all over our region and including activities for the whole family,” he said.
“As Anderson’s friendliest burger, the evening is near and dear to our hearts,” Bradford said.
Matty’s Patty’s will be serving its signature Smashburger, topped with American cheese, grilled onions, No. 5 Burger Sauce, crispy fries, its famous giant cookie and a variety of ice-cold beverages.
