Adam is a freelance teacher and performer in Chicago, pursuing a PhD in Musical Arts at the University of Iowa. In addition to his work at the University of Iowa, Adam regularly performs, teaches, and leads master classes. He recently visited Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Ohio Northern University, Ohio Christian University and Valparaiso University to present ideas about musician health.

Adam is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and the University of Iowa, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music, respectively. While in school, Adam served as artist-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and performed in several ensembles. He has held positions with the St. Louis Philharmonic, the St. Louis Brass Band, Union Avenue Opera, the Old Capital Quintet and the award-winning Iowa Tuba Quartet. As a performer and teacher, he has given recitals and master classes for the International Tuba and Euphonium Association, University of Iowa, Lutheran College, and others.

In addition, Adam developed a keen interest in wind symphony and took up band directing as his second area of ​​study while at DMA. He has had the privilege of leading the Iowa Wind Ensemble, the University of Iowa Wind Symphony, and has been invited to serve as a guest clinician at several local high schools and colleges. Adam has maintained a successful studio as a private lesson instructor for over twenty years. Many of his students have received fellowships and prestigious fellowships, held positions in orchestras, and performed throughout the country. Adam’s success is attributed to his collaboration with teachers Jan Kagarice, John Manning, David Gier, Roger Rocco and Mike Sanders.
