MARKSVILLE, La. – The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana and Paragon Casino Resort are partnering with the Avoyelle Arts Council to present the 12th Annual Avoyelle Arts & Music Festival at Paragon Casino Resort.
“Paragon has served this community for 30 years, and our involvement in the parish has always been our most important mission,” said Marshall Ray Sampson, Sr., general manager of Paragon Casino Resort. “I can’t think of a better way to express our love and gratitude than by lending our space to host the largest and most anticipated festival of the year.”
Activities include entertainment in the Mari Showroom, arts and crafts in the lobby and activities for children.
“The core of the festival remains the same,” said Alison Augustine, president of the Avoyelles Arts Council. “Our goal is to highlight the arts and music of our region while bringing the community together to celebrate our nation’s birthday.”
The Avoyelles Arts and Music Festival includes the state’s longest-running 4th of July parade, live music from Louisiana musicians, food booths, and cars and fireworks. The festival draws more than 3,000 visitors to Marksville each year.
“The Avalelle Arts and Music Festival is a great opportunity for visitors to experience the hospitality and culture of Avalelle,” said Wilbert Carmouche, executive director of the Avalelle Tourism Council.
The festival will be held on Thursday, July 4, beginning with a parade in Marksville at 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by an opening ceremony at Paragon Casino Resort.
