UNLV Sound of Music District announces artist-in-residence series |

The UNLV Voice District is pleased to announce a series of artist-in-residence events that will bring faculty and performers from across the country to Las Vegas. These clinicians have studied and sang all over the world, and with activities centered around our classical and jazz/commercial vocal programs, we aim to expose our student body and community to high-caliber researchers and performers in our industry. Attendees will receive a wealth of current and valid information from clinicians who have performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and overseas, and who have presented research at the Vocal Foundation and the International Vocal Teachers’ Congress. Event details are as follows:

*PhD. Brian Gill, professor of voice and education at Indiana University, 2018 NATS Master Teacher Intern.

Friday, March 22, 2024, 3:00-4:40 pm: Doc Rando Recital Hall Vocal Area Master Class

*PhD. Alison Trainer is an assistant professor of music and voice at Boston University.

Monday, March 25, 2024, 7:00-8:00 pm: Doc Rando Recital Hall Guest Artist Concert

Wednesday, March 27, 2024 1:00-2:15 pm: Doc Rando Recital Hall Vocal Area Master Class

*Cecilia Violetta Lopez. Critically acclaimed soprano and UNLV CFA 2024 Alumni of the Year.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 1:00-2:15 pm: Doc Rando Recital Hall Vocal Area Master Class

*Angela Meade, a famous soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera and many other opera houses.

Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 1:00-2:15 pm: Doc Rando Recital Hall Vocal Area Master Class

These events are open to the public and we hope to have a large number of attendees and opportunities to learn and grow.
