Teachers and administrators who inspire students’ creativity and work to unleash their potential through arts education will be recognized at the 2024 Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA) Awards Ceremony on February 27.

A reception and awards ceremony will be held in the Samueli Theater at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Educators, students and arts supporters can register for the event by visiting this link. While admission is free, seating is limited.

For more than 30 years, Orange County music and arts administrators have partnered with the Segerstrom Center for the Arts to present the Orange County Music and Arts Educator Award.

This annual event honors elementary and middle school educators for outstanding leadership and arts instruction in five arts disciplines. In addition, it recognizes support administrators, community arts advocates, classroom teachers and special education arts awards.

OCMAA was founded by the Orange County Department of Education as an active alliance of school districts, community arts organizations, parents and business leaders. They work together to ensure a high-quality, inclusive, accessible and equitable arts education for every child.

An overwhelming number of nominations were received this year, and the Alliance is pleased to announce 72 outstanding nominees, reflecting the incredible depth and breadth of talent within the Orange County arts education community.

“The Orange County Music and Arts Awards are the highest recognition for outstanding arts educators in Orange County, highly recognized by the community for their recognition of quality instructional service,” said OCDE Arts Coordinator Scott Fitz Scott Fitzpatrick said.

“Thanks to additional sponsorships from multiple other arts organizations, we are excited to announce that this special event will be free and open to all attendees. Please join me in celebrating these leaders in arts education in Orange County!

OCMAA is proud to host the upcoming awards ceremony with the support of an expanding list of sponsors.
