Garden Arts and Music Festival

The Earth Center will celebrate Master Gardeners with garden tours, live music, content and more.

The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County will host the Earth Center Garden, Art and Music Festival. The event will be held rain or shine.

The day will be filled with family activities, live arts performances and local music.

Throughout the afternoon, Rutgers Master Gardeners and Environmental Conservators will provide gardening and stewardship advice while guiding visitors through various teaching gardens and learning programs.

Their creations include: a children’s garden, a vegetable display garden and the popular butterfly house. There will also be mini lectures on gardening topics and cooking techniques.

Visitors can also get an up-close look at the Rows for the Hungry Project, which has grown in recent years and donated nearly 30 tons of fresh, high-quality produce to local Middlesex County food banks. The scale and precision of this operation is sure to inspire community-minded residents to join the volunteer effort.

Enter the Greatest Garden Contest and bring in the homegrown produce you are most proud of; categories may include: Biggest Tomato, Biggest Zucchini, Weirdest Heirloom, Biggest Sunflower and Most Look Like a Celebrity or Historical Figure.

Free admission.
